Where Barri Viu's data comes from, how often it updates, and what we do not claim.
Where the data comes from
Figures come from two official Barcelona City Council portals: Open Data BCN (income, population and tourist flats) and Portaldades (rent and purchase prices, and crime). We use no property-listing data and no estimates of our own.
What each figure means
Rent is the average monthly price of registered contracts. Purchase price is the average asking price for second-hand homes. Income is average disposable income per resident. Tourist flats are dwellings holding a current tourist-use licence. Offences are incidents known to the police.
Coverage
Not every neighbourhood has data for every indicator. Where a figure does not exist the page omits it: we never substitute a zero or an estimate for a missing value. Rankings always state how many territories with data they are computed over.
Comparisons
When we say a neighbourhood is above or below the median territory, we compare against the median of territories that have data for that indicator — not a population-weighted city average.
Updates
Pages are regenerated periodically from the source. Each page's update date says when it was last recalculated.
What we do not do
We do not recommend neighbourhoods, score liveability, or publish user reviews. Barri Viu shows the official figure and where it came from; the judgement is the reader's.
